About me

I'm Ida, an interior architectural designer and owner of Ida York Interior Design. Although I am located in downtown Portland Oregon, I work along the west coast. My design firm specializes in restaurant, hospitality and residential design.

I started my design career in 2005 with a restaurant remodel. It was an amazing launch! Soon after, I received my bachelors in interior architecture and design. I began my own firm within months and have not looked back.

Having stepped into many homes and businesses, I have never encountered the same constraints twice. Each project is as varied as the people I meet. The way I see my work is that I create spaces that people love. I believe so strongly in this that I've incorporated the phrase into my business...love your space. If it's where you live, work, dine or relax, shouldn't you love being there? I believe so.

My clients can expect exceptional service when they partner with IYID. I personally see every project through from conception to completion. We are unique in that customer service is the very reason that our business is nearly 100% referral based.
